"Fresh Water-root Hut"
Lake Superior Shore
1994
Through my experience of the raw forces of
nature and its seasons of generation, decay
and renewal, I seek to re-member in my art a
primal link between human life, culture and
nature, being aware of all aspects of an
environment from sensory and elemental
to historical and even mythical. My body
and hands are evident in the articulation of
forms and spaces, yet the mostly wood
constructions reflect the surroundings
as if intrinsically a part of and having
emerged spontaneously from them...

"Her Blue Sea Fire" performance

Within the spaces of my sculptural work,
I ‘interiorize’ my body in ritualistic move
ment
in series’ of public and video-performances.
My performance pace is extremely slow and
deliberate in an embodiment of the imperceptible
movement of time and change in the natural world.
